Progression Coach - Lindsay Haggis

Hi, my name is Lindsay Haggis. I am the Progression Coach for ED6. My job is to support the 6th Form students with their personal development, overcome barriers and achieve their potential.

I studied engineering at college and won an scholarship with the BBC to study engineering at Newcastle University. I enjoyed university so much I went back a second time and graduated from Lincoln University with First Class Honours in Equine Sports Science.

I was particularly interested in the biomechanics of the equine hoof wall and my research was presented at The Society for Experimental Biology‘s annual International conference and published in Comparative Exercise Physiology and Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology. I went on to lecture in Equine Science & Business Management at Writtle University College and completed my PGCE with University of Essex.

I am a College Safeguarding Officer and am qualified to teach the Mindfulness in Schools .b programme. I am also a trainer for the Royal Society of Public Health’s Connect 5 Mental Health & Wellbeing programme.
