Box clever at ED6 and East Durham College - The North East’s No. 1 Boxing Development Centre

The Boxing Performance is open to both male and female students enrolled at ED6. The Centre is designed to support students at recreational, regional, national and international levels - turning raw talent into real talent.

The Boxing Development Centre includes:
Unique performance opportunities
Dedicated, fully equipped boxing gym with two rings
9 to 12 hours training per week
Individual athlete assessments
Fitness training
Technical skills development
Tactical skills development
Diet and nutrition
Specialised boxing conditioning

East Durham College certainly has something to be proud of when it comes to finding top class coaching staff. And boxing is no exception.

David Binns, Head of Boxing at the College, has proven to be one-in-a-million, with no end to his list of achievements, whether that’s working with complete amateur beginners or right up to professional boxers.

David is one of the most highly qualified and respected coaches within the sport. Not only does he head up the academy here at the College, he
also has a leading role with the Tyne, Tees & Wear ABA and England ABA squads’ training programmes.
