On the Rugby Development Programme you will receive 9-12 hours per week (on top of your academic work) of high quality rugby coaching.
The training will focus on your core rugby skills and unit skills, with a game sense approach to the coaching provided. In addition to training you will attend tutorials, player assessments, player and team match analysis, nutrition, lifestyle management, fitness testing, strength and conditioning training, rugby coaching and take part in referee qualifications. On top of all this students are given the opportunity to volunteer in local schools and clubs to help with coaching and/or refereeing to enhance their overall rugby education.
As part of the programme you will represent Team East Durham in several cups and leagues, such as the British College Sports League and Cup, the Daily Mail Cup, the Merit League and the FE Series.
